DESCRIPTION:

Contains occurrences of tornadoes in the mid-Atlantic region.

# Occurrences: 1968

# Events: 917 (168 with F+1>=5)

Event Criteria: Consecutive occurrences within 6 hrs of each other.

Occurrence Criteria: As classified by NCDC storm events database.

NOTES:

Tornadoes that cross state boundaries are listed as separate occurrences.

When choosing tornadoes by event, only those where the sum of the F-scale+1 values is >= 5 will be displayed.

While care was taken to represent times as accurately as possible, some times may be an hour off due to daylight savings time considerations when converting to UTC.
